Endorsements

Our endorsement process is an important aspect of the Republican Party of Cuyahoga County, designed to support Republican candidates who align with our values and contribute to the goals of the party. As per Article VIII of our bylaws, the Committee on Candidates, comprised of members from the Executive Committee, establishes a thorough process for interviewing prospective candidates. After reviewing their credentials and qualifications, the committee recommends candidates for endorsement through a majority vote. For candidates seeking nomination or immediate placement before voters, the recommendation is presented to a joint convention of the Central and Executive Committees for a final endorsement vote. In the case of appointments to public office, the recommendation goes to the Chairman, who forwards it to the appropriate official. It is important to note that the Chairman has the discretion to call a joint convention for resolution on matters related to endorsements. These rules ensure a fair and effective endorsement process that upholds the interests of the Republican Party of Cuyahoga County.
