Cuyahoga GOP Joins with Jack Schron’s Stance Against Divesting from Israel Bonds

CLEVELAND, OH – Lisa M. Stickan, Chairman of the Republican Party of Cuyahoga County, has issued the following statement regarding the proposed resolution from two Democrats before Cuyahoga County Council to cease investments in Israel bonds and prohibit future foreign securities investments:

“I stand with County Councilman Jack Schron in opposing this resolution. The proposed resolution fails to consider the significant support these investments provide to our county’s financial stability and the solidarity they represent with our local Jewish community.”

“Cuyahoga County currently holds approximately $16 million in Israel bonds. This resolution would prevent future investments, limiting the county’s ability to diversify its portfolio effectively.”

“Our investments not only benefit the county but also demonstrate solidarity with our large Jewish community in Cuyahoga County, which has strong ties to Israel.”

“We encourage community members to attend the upcoming County Council meeting to voice their opposition to the resolution, even though it is expected to be crowded. Your presence is crucial to show collective support for continued investment in Israel bonds and to support Jack Schron’s leadership on this issue.”
